Create an opt-out program for the Social Security system for young people.

Created by A.W. on February 15, 2013

I am proposing the creation of a "Social Security Opt-Out" program where legal United States citizens between the ages of 18 and 45 can remove themselves from the current Social Security system.

These individuals would sign a legal document stating that they wish to receive back 75% of what they have paid into the Social Security Trust Fund, and they will no longer be beholden to the Federal Insurance Contributions Act tax. These people will acknowledge that by doing this, they will never again have access to SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. for the remainder of their lifetime.

These people will now be free to pay down personal debt, invest in personal 401k programs, and use their money as they see fit when retirement age comes around.
