As a region with a long-standing separate culture and identity, New England constitutes a unique region within the United States. The political landscape likewise is unique within the United States. As such, the federal government does not represent the people and interests of New England well, instead pandering to larger regions and regions that are more likely to swing between parties regularly.
Because of this, New England should have the right to an autonomous parliament and governing body that has the power to pass laws for New England as a whole, while still remaining a part of the United States. Such a relationship would most closely resemble the relationship between Scotland and Westminster; New England shall not be subject to laws not pertaining to certain reserved matters.
