Create, Pass, and Authorize an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for Non-Theists.

All across the military there are chaplains. Chaplains, under current law, must be appointed by a religious organization, such as a baptist church. The amendment that we want to be put in place would allow organizations of non-theistic spirituality to appoint chaplains within the military chaplain corps. Over a quarter of the armed forces identify themselves as being non-religious/atheist. By authorizing this amendment into action, thousands of soldiers that are in need of someone to talk about their life and discuss the hardships of serving our great country, and possibly even lowering suicide rates among the ranks, would be able to discuss what they need to. This country is based on many ideas, one of those ideas is the freedom of religion, which means any religion, even for atheists.
