Create a path to Green Card for non-STEM graduate degree holders & those who finished secondary ed. & college in the US.

Created by I.O. on May 25, 2013

The Dream Act is geared toward creating a quicker path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who entered the US as children. What about children who came here with their parents legally on a dependent visa? There is a 7-year wait time for US citizens’ “unmarried sons or daughters over 21” under the family preference category, and the person sponsored can't remain in the US during the process. They are fully integrated, have developed an American identity, and would like to stay in the US with or close to their now-naturalized parents, but they are not part of the pending Immigration reform. Just because someone isn't undocumented or doesn't fit within the STEM profile does not mean they can't positively contribute to the strength and future growth of the US. We shouldn't let them go!
