Stop all government welfare/subsidies to dirty energy companies including, but not limited to nuclear, coal, oil, "natural" gas, and tar sands. Use funds saved from this to support Americans in building a People's Grid. A grid where individual households and commercial buildings use whatever sustainable means available for their individual circumstances to best produce energy on their location. This system should eventually replace the current system of large energy/utility companies unsustainably producing, supplying and distributing our massive amounts of energy with these companies downsized but still existing to fill gaps. And excess energy produced by this People's Grid can be collected and distributed to those who can't yet produce their own during the process of transition.
