Create a Pete Seeger Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

Pete Seeger's ideals are the ones that make us proud to be Americans.

His efforts through his music and through the Clearwater Foundation brought people together and helped to educate over 20,000 New York City kids each year about the Hudson River, the environment and treating each other with respect.

Seeger's music has helped millions understand the world better and stress peaceful resolution. Songs that he popularized and/or wrote include "We Shall Overcome," "Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There Is a Season)," "Where Have All The Flowers Gone," and "If I Had A Hammer" stood strong for the American Civil Rights Movement, his words have become rallying cries for generations fighting for equality in a peaceful way.
