We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Create a plan for the CDC to conduct a comprehensive Gun Violence study

Created by W.B. on July 09, 2016

We need the neutral CDC to conduct a Gun Violence study, so that the we and our lawmakers can have scientific evidence to foster discussion at a level of reason, rather than passion.
We ask:
1. Appoint a new head of the CDC to replace Tom Frieden. The Washington Post and Huffington Post both reported there’s a misconception the Dickey Amendment is what solely blocks the CDC from Gun Violence research, but that it’s actually a lack of will on the CDC’s part to enter into the fray. The CDC requires stronger leadership to move the issue forward.
2. Adequately fund a CDC study into Gun Violence. Erin Schumaker’s 12/7/15 Huffington Post article stated, “’It is possible for us to conduct firearm-related research…’ CDC spokeswoman Courtney Lenard wrote… ‘But our resources are very limited.’”
