Create a plan to re-purpose the International Space Station upon its scheduled retirement.

Created by J.A. on April 23, 2013

Repurpose and move the International Space Station upon its scheduled retirement in 2020 as a space station in orbit around Earths Moon or as the building blocks for the construction of a lunar base on the Moons surface.

The International Space Station is a technological marvel of the 21st Century. It is also a $150 Billion Dollar investment by the people of the Earth for scientific discovery and exploration. Its solar panels, modules, components and mechanical arm are valuable building/construction materials that can better serve us as pieces of our future efforts in and around the moon.

Furthermore we feel it is wasteful to make such a large investment only to have it destroyed falling back into our planet upon retirement. Instead we should spread our green-economy into space.
