Create policies to lengthen a new mother's maternity leave and job security.

Created by I.C. on January 29, 2014

America is on par with China, Sudan, Afghanistan when it comes to maternity leave. Three months is all we get. Paid or unpaid. New mothers that decide to stay home after the allotted leave, know that their source of income will be lost. Three months is not enough to allow babies fend for themselves.

The only victims here are the newborn babies. They become what some might call neglected. At 3 months old, they are sent to daycares, to sit in cribs all day, and to interact with their parents only for a possible 3 hours before bedtime. It does not take a genius to see that this will affect any baby. Whether it is the emotional, mental, or physical health, the baby will be affected.

America needs to step-up and support growing families.
