Americans are all heart broken over violent crime committed in this country. We all sympathize with the victims of these tragedies. The American people want solutions that are effective (such as enforcing laws currently on the books, preventing the mentally ill from legally obtaining weapons, etc...). Banning semi-automatic weapons (which are commonly used for lawful purposes) from the law abiding will not stop cold blooded killers from achieving their murderous goals. Timothy McVeigh is one example of this fact. Killers don't obey the law.
MR. PRESIDENT, THIS PETITION ASKS YOU TO FIND SOLUTIONS WHILE RESPECTING THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!! THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT WANT SEMI-AUTOMATIC WEAPONS AND HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINES BANNED!!!
