create a policy to encourage 30 million new Americans to immigrate to the United States over the next 10 years.

Created by M.O. on March 31, 2013

The discussion of immigration is based on the premise that we have too much immigration. Nothing could be further from the truth. Due to the retirement of Baby Boomers the labor force is expected to decline by 2020. The solvency of Social Security and Medicare is threatened by fewer workers financing an increasing number of retirees. We need more working age Americans to resolve these problems. We should establish a goal of growing the US population by 1% per year for the next 10 years through immigration. This would mean inviting over 30 million new immigrants to this country over ten years, twice the current rate. Ever since colonial times immigrants have expanded our economy, enriched our culture, and revitalized our democracy. This is still true today
