Create a precedent of "limited transparency" within our national security system.

Created by B.F. on June 15, 2013

After the recent headlines regarding the NSA's PRISM program, it seems obvious that we need to reform the manner in which information regarding the government's actions is conveyed to the public, as well as the amount of government transparency as a whole. The United States ranks 20th in the Press Freedom Index, and 21st in the Democracy Index, as of 2012. This speaks to the need for reform and accountability in our government, and one way to do this is to increase transparency. Our government is a representative government, so the laws/programs implemented in the US government should be reflected accurately by the ideas and opinions of the people. How can we represent a program that we didn't know existed? We implore you to increase transparency in order to create justice in our nation.
