In exchange for their commitment to teach in the public education system for not less than six years, the federal government, in reciprocity with participating states, shall provide matching funds to the state for any high school graduate who scores in the top fifteen percentile of those students taking the SAT test in the same year. These funds shall be disbursed to students in the form of forgivable loans for state tuition.
Those participating in this program shall receive starting salaries commensurate with no less than the upper one-third of the salary scale for the hiring district.
Participating teachers are categorized as Classroom Administrators and shall serve under “at will” contracts and shall be deemed “salaried-exempt” in accordance with the Federal Labor Standards Act.
