There is a need for a program for Enlisted Military Medical Personnel of the U.S. Armed Forces to leave their enlistment with professional credentialing recognized by civilian employers. Upon completion of their primary job training they should be licensed as Medical Assistants and Nationally Registered as Basic Emergency Medical Technicians. Their further training should be adapted to licensing and certification programs in the civilian sector. A medical professional with the advanced skills and experience that these individuals possess should not leave their time of service to find that they are deemed unqualified for the job(s) they’ve been doing proficiently for years. This will provide jobs for Veterans and Medical Professionals to satisfy the need in an undermanned career field.
