Create a program so all firearms sold have a round fired and kept on file with authorities in a database, like IFIAS.

Created by L.P. on January 12, 2013

The FBI has IAFIS databases for fingerprints to help catch criminals. We should have a similar system that would track markings on bullets and casings from all firearms sold. A bullet should be fired from any firearm sold, the expended casing/bullet would be kept on file and the markings would be entered into a national database, attached to the owners name. If such a database was compiled, when bullets or casings were recovered as evidence at a crime scene, the markings would be entered into the database to be matched up, possibly making it easier to identify a suspect or begin a trail for authorities to follow, to find a suspect. Imagine having a database such as we use for fingerprints, for those in ballistics. Some may see this as constrictive, we should see it as a safety measure
