The United States has the best higher education system in the world. Our taxpayer subsidized universities recruit the smartest people, the best talent, from around the world. Our universities educate these students in science, mathematics, and engineering. Eventually, they graduate. Many of them want to stay in the US, but their student visas expire, and we force them to go home. This is a horrible mistake.
52% of technology startup companies in the United States are started by individuals born in another country. Foreign nationals invent 26% of patents in the US. True innovators, the best the world has to offer, are coming to our shores to learn. It is time to start using their talents to drive our economy. We can't afford to kick them out any longer.
