Autoimmune disease is on the rise. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) estimates up to 23.5 million Americans suffer from autoimmune disease and that the incidence is rising. The most common cause of all diseases in the world today is autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune diseases are ranked number one cause of all diseases. Fatigue, numbness, weakness, stiffness, extreme sensitivity, weight gain, are common traits. According to the American Autoimmune Related Disease Association there are critical obstacles in diagnosis and treatment. Medical professionals are given minimal learning about these disease. Most are unaware of advances in treatment outside their area. Symptoms are often intermittent and unspecific. Most specialists are generally unaware of the interrelationships among diseases.
