Because television is viewed by so many, a massive educational campaign stressing the value of exercise, broadcast over as many networks as possible, at their own expense, and in cooperation with the Ad Council, could yield untold benefits in terms of recouped health care costs and wages lost to sick time. As a corollary, the importance of diet and good food choices should also be incorporated into such a media campaign. The food industry, the healthcare industry, and the insurance industry should all be stakeholders in this campaign with Congressional oversight over final content before distribution.
