Create a "Public Option" for healthcare that can compete with private insurance companies.

Created by D.S. on December 21, 2012

Analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office in 2010 found that a government-run plan that negotiated rates with care providers could save $25 billion in the next 10 years.

The United States has no reason not to enact a "Public Option" for our healthcare system besides caving to pressure from insurance companies and for-profit hospitals.

Creating a "Public Option" will not only lower healthcare cost for Americans, it will create a number of federal jobs.
