The culmination of the advances in the last century saw humankind step off this world for the first time ushering in a new era of creativity, patriotism, and hope for not only the United States, but also the entire world. Regardless of the social and political forces that fueled this advancement, no one can disagree that the outcome was anything less than extraordinary. In the past presidents were personally vocal about the merits of these programs and their benefits. What is needed today is a meaningful initiative of the Presidency, government, non-profit, and commercial interests for re-imagining the future of space exploration, research, and industry for current and future generations of Americans in a way that meaningfully touches everyday life.
