In order to better understand and acknowledge the history of this country before European colonization, we petition to create a public school subject that teaches and helps young citizens understand and focus on the pre-Columbian heritage of the United States. There is great misunderstanding and ignorance of this important past in today's society, and it could also help build a common culture between Americans and help better unify the people during these turbulent times. Please note that this culture is slowly disappearing, and it would be a wonderful deed to attempt to conserve this heritage.
