Create a public works program, similar to that under FDR that would both create jobs and rebuild our infrastructure.

This petition is a policy request that would help our economy on many levels. Everyone can agree that the New Deal under FDR helped the economy then, and would be now. If we are going to run another deficit this year, and the next, then why not spend it on something that would be worth it. Our infrastructure is on the brink of collapse and we need to do something about it. Invest in it now before we cannot afford to repair the damage don after a disaster, like Hurricane Sandy. Here's the premise: Infrasturcutre spending -> jobs -> taxpayers -> more revenue and less spending for the government -> lower taxes overall -> more spending in the economy -> economic recovery -> more jobs created in private sector.
