create real reforms to hold elected officials accountable.

Created by J.R. on October 17, 2013

"Americans are completely fed up with Washington." Sadly that has been stated before by many elected officials, but rarely is anything done.

Below are my suggestions for holding elected officials accountable and improving the quality of people elected.

1 No more gerrymandered districts
2 No more campaign contributions from individuals or companies. The gov can pay with increased revenue from eliminating those tax deductions for campaign contributions.
3 A set campaign season. No campaigning before a given date.
4 Term limits for senators and representatives.
5 Elected officials a barred from working for the government or lobbying groups following their terms for 4 years.

Sadly this is not likely to happen because it takes an elected official to do something not in their self-interest.
