Anti homeless ordinances are spreading across the country. Silicon Valley recently announced it wants to make sleeping in one's car illegal. Imprisoning the homeless is cruel and unusual punishment that is criminalizing poverty. Please pass a bill that will prevent cities from passing bills regarding this activity and protect people who have no other option but to live in their vehicles.
In addition, homelessness has been attacked in many cities through ordinances that make it illegal to feed the homeless. These ordinances, passed as "anti food sharing" laws, such as the ones passed in Raleigh, NC and Orlando, FL are completely un-American and an attack on liberty itself. Please pass a bill to prevent these sorts of attacks on both the poorest citizens and those that wish to help them.
