Industrialized farming is considered the use of animals for food to create a greater output and a smaller input. There are no restrictions creating a monopoly of legalized animal cruelty. It is typically found that the animals are in compact cages or pens and fattened to the point that their bones can't hold the weight of the animal. This does not mean we should stop eating meat, but we do need to protect the citizens of the US, the environment surrounding our homes, and the animals in such cruel circumstances. The hormones that are being fed to the animals, the animals that we eat, contain pesticides which transfer to us. The excrament is even flowing into our drinking water.
