We, the People, should be able to implicitly trust the statements of our government officials to be accurate when referring to factually verifiable information. To be given factually incorrect information from government officials, who should have a sworn duty to provide reliably factual information, should be considered a criminal act equivalent to committing perjury in court.
We have placed a sacred trust in our government officials to not attempt to deceive or coerce us by making false statements about verifiable facts. Their opinions about what those facts may mean can vary and even contradict but let's start at requiring our elected and appointed officials to not lie to US citizens about the facts used as the basis of their opinions.
