Many businesses and towns which receive commercial carriers do not provide safe havens for drivers who have reached the limit of hours of opporation under federal law thus forcing commercial carriers to opporate beyond federal guidelines. Many towns and businesses have enough space that could be used to allow a commercial carrier to take the federally required safety break but do not make the space available and occasionally take steps to prevent the use of such space. A law should be considered to allow commercial carriers safe havens within businesses and towns.
