Every day children the ages of 1-17 are being beaten, and having their human right "freedom from cruel and unusual punishment" stripped from them. Hitting a child, as recent studies has showed, only damages their mental state of mind. Making them feel unsafe and threatened. This causes more crime in the US. People with these pasts are more likely to go into the drug community and become violent as adults. When someone has a criminal record it makes it harder to get a job. Which in turn just sets them up for many things including robbery and theft. I believe That hitting a small child or teen even, is a cruel punishment, don't you? Many teens form depression and even commit suicide because of physical abuse, Stop the violence, stop the cruelty, and sign this petition.
