We petition the Federal Government, through the Executive Branch, to act to protect and preserve the Big Sable Dune Complex, located north of Ludington, Michigan. The result of this action shall benefit all stakeholders in a sustainable fashion.
The Big Sable Dune Complex comprises an open-dune ecosystem twice the size of Sleeping Bear Dunes NL, with unique features found nowhere else in the world. Some protections are now afforded by Federal Wilderness, National Forest, and State Park designations. We petition government at all levels to work with Michigan DNR and private property holders to create a win-win situation, sustainable for all stakeholders, which expands economic opportunity, and creates a magnificent natural resource of local, regional, and national significance.
