This petition to create a scholarship for a fully paid trip abroad for high school students would be extremely beneficial to the United States population. Understanding other countries and how they work could help fight ignorance and promote critical thinking. As Americans I think we are very ethnocentric and truly don't know a lot about the world outside of our own. Statistics show that only 30% of Americans have passports and only 1% of college students travel abroad yearly. This number can only dwindle when observing high school statistics on the matter.
