Create a school marshal program similar to the FFDO used by the airlines to combat terrorism, focusing on teachers.

This is being written and signed to urge the President to implement a expansion of the Air Marshal program used to train pilots as Federal Flight Deck Officers for aviation safety. A similar program can be used for teachers, train them in a similar manner as the Air Marshal's, since both would most likely face a situation in enclosed spaces. With proper training, screening by Homeland Security, and recurrent training these armed teachers can become an additional layer of protection for the youth of our nation. It has been quite successful protecting our skies, the marshal system can protect our classrooms as well, with minimal cost, no new officers, and a minimal investment in the initial expansion of a already existing program.
