People need second chances. Many make youthful mistakes at the State Level and are allowed to plead no-contest in exchange for adjudication being withheld.
The problem is the Federal Government only recognizes innocence or guilt. Even if it's sealed, expunged, or the person is found to be innocent. Data mining companies will have the persons arrest on file (regardless of adjudication) and will readily give it out when someone does a background check.
This petition is to give people a second chance. To ban searchable records in cases where adjudication was withheld, innocence, or the record was sealed or expunged. This is also a request to remove searchable minor traffic violations from the public record. We should help people move forward not punish them forever.
