We the people, so that we may turn over to the government the rights that have allowed us to obtain drugs in violation of our own laws, ask our government to create sensible laws that allow us access to safer drugs that people actually want and may help some, while removing the criminality of more dangerous drugs that we become addicted to. People have feared any laws, even sensible ones, that attempt to control dangerous drugs or even overuse of 'nonaddictive' medicines ,because they fear a takeover of their access to substances they may actually need. We must make access to anything people can control their use of possible, and relate the difficulty of this access to the actual harm we think it may inflict; even those we agree are too harmful should not be shrouded in criminality.
