A lot of non Federal employers offer sick time. From time to time employees do get sick and need to take time off to recover. I have seen employees come to work extremely sick and pass this onto other employees. If employees were offered sick time, illnesses would be less likely to be passed onto others and the employee could recover without or with less worry.
