Given the United States' policies of mass immigration and forced integration which are demographically and culturally transforming many parts of the South into non-Southern areas, a Federally-recognized Southern reservation on the model of the American Indian reservations is needed to ensure the long-term survival of the Southern people as a unique ethnic and cultural group in at least a portion of their historic homeland.
