Create the State if Lincoln

Created by J.H. on November 17, 2012

The citizens of the geographic area of Northern Idaho, Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon wish to proclaim independence from our respected states to form the 51st State of Lincoln as proposed in a Spokane, Washington proposal in 1907 that called for a new state "Lincoln" to be created from eastern Washington, northeastern Oregon, and northern Idaho. Lincoln’s western boundary will be at 120° W, aligning with California's eastern boundary, Lincoln’s southern boundary will be at 45°N, aligning with Wyoming's northern boundary. Canada and Montana will be the north and east boundaries.
We believe that these states are too diverse to evenly represent us in the state and federal government forum. Resources like water, agriculture, timber and tourism do not receive the political attention.
