It is estimated 5 children a day die from abuse and neglect. 1 in 4 children are sexually abused. These facts are staggering. Yet less than HALF of abuse and neglect cases are ever solved, and rarely are the children ever taken from the home, leaving them in danger.
We need reform for child welfare programs and services. We need stricter guidelines for handling cases, more programs available to child victims, and we need staff who are trained to properly handle the cases in a timely fashion. Force the states to fix their systems to protect our children!
