We the undersigned petition the Honorable Barack H. Obama, President of the United States of America, to take the following actions for all student loans held by the US Department of Education:
Permanently lower the interest rate on all student loans, both subsidized and unsubsidized, to 2.5%.
Restore all defaulted loans to current status.
Restore all past-due, but not yet defaulted, loans to current status.
Set the due date for the first payment on all restored loans to ninety days from the restoration date.
Forgive all collections fees that have been added to the balances of defaulted student loans.
