Create a summer jobs program for large city youth

Created by A.S. on September 30, 2015

Despite the popularity of fast-food chains and other minimum wage jobs, teenagers still have difficulty obtaining work. High schools end later and later and assign more homework, giving teenagers less and less opportunities to build a resume. After graduation, teenagers are regurgitated into society jobless and with little skills to offer. How are they supposed to jumpstart the rest of their lives when the system restricts any type of early career growth? This country and its cities need a summer jobs program for our youth, offering temporary jobs in various fields to open up their minds to possible future careers. Not only is having an idea of their career important, but this will help out children from struggling families and also give them a sense of independence.
