Create a system in which all American citizens are contacted directly about legislation and the people decide the result

Too many of our citizens are uninformed about the legislation being pushed day-to-day. Unless a person seeks out the information, they may never hear about it until it has become law. A new system not affiliated with any political party must be created where citizens are contacted directly by mail, phone call, text, e-mail, among other possible methods, and informed of legislation with the ability to vote on it and the ability to offer in new laws to be voted on. Congressional power must be weakened and the individuals that represent us must be ourselves. We cannot count on others to have our best interests in mind, recent history has shown us that. With the passage of time, change must follow. Our system is ancient and its evolution is far behind schedule. It must begin now. We the people
