The US and State Governments should sell hereditary titles of nobility! This would provide both amusement to the populous and be a valuable source of funds. No rights would come with these titles, except the right to be addressed as such and pass on the title to one's descendants.
Such titles would be auctioned off, with reserves in the millions. Dukedoms would be 1 per State. Countships 1 Per County, Baronies at the City level and Squirages at the Town level. Earldoms could be federal, with National Parks as the fief.
"American Nobles" would also have to pay a subscription fee (3% of the purchase price, per year) to "Maintain the dignity of their title."
