Warren Buffett has proposed an increased tax rate for the wealthiest Americans, believing that the current rate unfairly favors the richest citizens while the middle and working classes continue to struggle. Unfortunately, Congress has stalled any efforts to implement the proposed "Buffett Tax."
It seems incredibly unfair that American citizens who are willing to contribute their wealth to the government are legally unable to do so. We, as a nation, shouldn't have to abide by that.
To address this issue, the Government (and the IRS in particular) should implement a program where citizens may voluntarily contribute money to the government at any time. With this program, Americans won't have to worry about Congress if they feel that they should be taxed higher, now and in the future.
