Survivors of police perpetrated domestic violence are not listened to, are ignored, are laughed at, when they try to get help. Many women end up dead. The court system ignores women and gives preferential treatment to the abusive officers, which further victimizes the women who have already suffered severe abuse. We need a task force, department and accountability measures put into place to hold these abusive officers accountable. We need to have this on the federal level, the state level and the county level. The court system also needs to be held accountable for allowing this abuse of power to go on; we need more accountability of the judges that allow this behavior.
