The United States federal government needs more revenue to continue to fund vital programs which millions of Americans are dependent upon.
Let the wealthy pay their fair share, giving back to society what society gave to them. No one needs so much money that it siphons services from those who need them most.
Supply-side economics does not help those who are not already wealthy. Demand drives the economy, not goods. Lowering taxes on wealthy "job creators" does not create living-wage jobs, and the benefits do not "trickle down." A progressive tax code ensures the poor can move into the middle class, and the middle class can thrive.
Let us be clear: This is not redistribution of wealth. This is asking everyone their fair share.
