The safety of, and the development of our children should be this nation's top priority. If there ever was anything to raise taxes on, this is it. Every Elementary school in the US should have two armed Police officers, to act as deterrents and first responders. If we were to pay officers $55,000 a year, using California as an example, this would cost $605,000,000 a year. When broken down, that is roughly 45 dollars per taxpayer in CA. It would create 11,000+ jobs in California alone. If veteran preference were used, the veteran unemployment of over 12% nationwide would drop steeply. The math adds up. Minimal cost, huge reward. Jobs are created, and our kids don't have to go to school worrying if they will come home. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Act now.
