CREATE A TAX ON NEW FIREARM SALES TO GO TOWARDS THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF IMPROVED DATABASE.

Created by B.B. on January 14, 2013

Propose a 10-15% sales tax (sin tax) on all new firearm sales. The proceeds of which would go directly to the establishment and maintenance of a national database that would list mental health problems with concerns to the public, dishonorable military discharges, minor drug convictions, and current wants and warrants including Domestic Violence misdemeanors.

Reform HIPPA to allow for this.

Create a 60 day waiting period between the purchase of a firearm and the delivery of a firearm. A check of the mandated databases should be done at the time of sale and then again at the time of delivery. If either search comes up with a restriction, then the police should be called immediately to investigate the attempted illegal purchase of a firearm by a restricted person.
