Bring the United States of America in line with the rest of the first world (and much of the second and third worlds as well) and institute a taxpayer funded system of health care under which all citizens are covered Mandate that all medical practitioners be required to accept this federal insurance as a condition of their licensure.
The "for profit" health-care system is immoral, inadequate, and unjust. The right to not die from preventable causes is a basic human right, and should not be placed in the care and administration of the capitalist.
Shrink the military budget, raise taxes on the extremely wealthy, raise taxes on corporations, close tax loopholes, tax capital gains at the rate of income tax, and use this bounty of revenue to fund healthcare for all Americans.
