I'm not going to pretend to be well versed in the convoluted system that is our government. Too often our system fails to progress as it should, hitting road bumps repeatedly and occasional blocks such as the 10/1/13 shutdown.
The career politician may be to blame. We offer a term limit to the president for multiple reasons, so why not other offices? These positions are meant as a public service, not as a place for someone to build their identity or enjoy a job that pays far beyond the average wage of their constituents.
Aside from helping eliminate stagnation and creating a new culture in public office, this should prove valuable in lessening the influence of special interest groups due to constant turnover. This would also allow for a greater diversity of individuals to direct our path
