Elected congress officials should be subject to term limits in the same manner as all other elected government officials. The absence of term limits in congress has created a stagnant body, where often an official's primary concern is their own re-election the following term. Congress is currently one of the lowest ranked governmental bodies in terms of public approval due to its indecisiveness and inability to come to bi-partisan solutions.
It is time to speak up and demand term limits for our congress officials. If each elected congress official knew before-hand that their maximum allowable time in office was only 4 years, I believe that we would see a drastic change in the effectiveness of congress and a heightened determination of our officials to work together for the greater good.
