The need for term limits for the representatives serving in the Senate and House has become tremendous. The problems and shortcomings of our nations representatives need no explanation here, but the benefits of term limits merit a listing:
1. Limits influence of special interest groups on politicians.
2. Eliminates career politicians at a national level.
3. Reduces inequalities in legislative districts over time.
4. Allows for more citizens to become representatives, which allows for fresher ideas to enter Congress, and makes the democratic choices freer.
5. Removes the Seniority Clout Penalty and incumbency advantages.
6. Limits wasteful government spending and curbs legislation with costs that exceeds the benefits.
7. Third parties become more viable in the eyes of the electorate.
